Smart Grid Application Know-how

Solekai has years of experience working with the utility industry, with a focus on the Smart Grid initiatives. We play an active role in getting Smart Grid products to market. Our engineers have also worked with the utility companies to help integrate their Smart Grid systems into their existing software systems.

One of Solekai’s Smart Grid focused activities has been with the FlexNet® system from Sensus. FlexNet is the world-wide leader in Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems. FlexNet is based on an open system architecture and combines high-power two-way RF communication between the utility and its network of meters.

Over the last three years, Solekai has worked closely with Sensus in the development of their FlexNet solution. Solekai worked on the enterprise software that manages the RF network, manages the data collected from the meters, and manages and interfaces between the FlexNet software and the existing utility software utilities.

Solekai has also worked with Sensus’ utility customers in integrating the FlexNet system with the existing infrastructure already in place at the customer’s facilities. This work includes developing software that bridges any gaps between the Sensus software and the customer’s systems. In addition, Solekai can serve as a partner with the utility company to support long term operations: software upgrades and migration, system testing and certification, and assisting the customers with troubleshooting system issues as they arise.
