Testing and Validation
Our work in the satellite world is evolving. We are now doing more than just bitstream development and pre-acceptance/pre-certification testing. Working with STB developers, we create “bitstreams on demand,” which are designed to accomplish a specific test objective (e.g., unit testing a module in isolation). In addition, we’re able to develop the test harnesses necessary to use bitstreams in a partially integrated STB. We can also help developers isolate problems, as well as perform the code fixes for them.
In effect, Solekai Systems is a system integrator. Problems often arise when third-party software is brought together with client software during integration. More and more, our customers choose to leverage our experience and shift the burden of system integration onto us. The unique differentiators that enable us to perform system integration for others are:
- Our depth and breadth of digital video experience—with technology, standards, and companies across the STB spectrum
- Our test staff is comprised of software engineers who are adept at both coding and testing
- We have the facilities (labs, equipment, headend simulators, bitstreams, etc.) to transition a product from the end of development through integration, to readiness for acceptance, certification, or qualification testing
