Digital Video Hardware Development
Our hardware development team has detailed, down-to-the-metal knowledge of the low-level hardware design, development, and debug that is an essential component of every digital video product.
Hardware development services clients: set-top box, headend equipment manufacturers, and digital video chip companies—who are most interested in investing their resources in the customer- and MSO-facing layers of their products—typically come to us because one, or more, of the following is true:
- Hardware is not a differentiating aspect of the product they are developing (as is often the case with our STB projects)
- Hardware (e.g., system-on-chip) is the end product, but the client lacks in-house expertise of a particular aspect (e.g., merging localized content with an MPEG-2 stream) of the product’s design
- Different pieces of hardware are being supplied by different third parties, and our client needs us to develop the glue to integrate the pieces together
- A new product is being considered and an architectural study is required to analyze the feasibility, cost, performance, requirements, or aspects of the potential design
- We offer one-stop shopping because our hardware design services can be complemented with our software development, integration, test, and/or certification services to deliver a more complete solution to a problem
