Solekai Systems Selling Boulder Operations to enableTV

2 October 2008 – San Diego, CA – Solekai Systems Corporation announced today that it has sold its Boulder Engineering Center, including the Independent Test Lab (ITL), and the DV-TIDE development tool, to enableTV.

Solekai will continue to operate normally from its corporate headquarters in San Diego, where it has always conducted the majority of its engineering services business. Solekai’s focus is on digital video engineering, specifically the global satellite broadcast and consumer electronics (CE) industries. It will continue to serve its customers--including DIRECTV, TiVo, and Stryker Communications, among others--without interruption. The sale of the Boulder operation to enableTV facilitates new opportunities for Solekai to grow into adjacent markets, such as IPTV, mobile, and possibly others, in addition to expanding its existing business focus, including satellite and streaming media.

“We see this transition as advantageous to both companies,” said Martin Caniff, President and Founder of Solekai Systems. “The facility in Boulder provides enableTV an excellent location from which to start their business. We are excited about this new company and hope to partner with them on future projects.”

enableTV is a new venture founded by Tim Wahlers. The company was started when Wahlers purchased the services business and other assets from Vidiom Systems, Wahlers’ previous company. “The assets we acquired,” explained Mr. Wahlers, “are various technologies and applications that were developed or licensed by Vidiom.” These technologies, some equipment, and approximately 60 former Vidiom and Solekai employees will be combined and located at Solekai Systems’ previous Boulder office to create the new company: enableTV.
